We found a concrete tower at the top of a mountain. We decided that it would be an incredibly unique place to spend the night.
Andrew seeks warmth. We forgot that concrete holds the cold. Especially on the top of the highest peak in the Great Smoky Mountains. At night.
The sunrise would soon help us forget the uncomfortable night.

These two Appalachian Trail through-hikers were crazy enough to spend the night in the same tower, and they regaled us with stories of their adventures.
The break of dawn.
We woke (though we hadn't really slept) at 5 AM to see if the sky would surprise us.
